An eSourcing Strategy for SMEs


This survey is part of my research for the completion of an M.Sc. Degree in Information Systems Management at the University of Liverpool, England. The topic of my dissertation is: "eSourcing for SMEs".

The central objective of the survey is to gather business-related data related to the understanding of eSourcing, its implementation in and the benefits to small- to medium-sized organisations. The findings of the survey will provide knowledge about current arrangements and will enable an evaluation of the possibility for the need of an eSourcing Strategy in SMEs.
 

A further objective is to analyse the basics in eSourcing strategies (which are implemented mostly by large corporate organisations) for implementation on a smaller scale, thereby evaluating the possibilities to either customize existing applications to suit the needs of an SME or if the demand exists for the development a new software product.

It is my pleasure to invite you to take part in the survey "An eSourcing Strategy for SMEs". The survey is part of my research for an M.Sc. Degree in Information Systems Management at the University of Liverpool, England.

Strict confidentiality of the information that is provided on the procurement practices of your organisation is guaranteed by me.

Enclosed you will find a short questionnaire and a glossary on some of the terms used in the questionnaire. In designing the questionnaire, I have tried to keep the questions as simple as possible, thereby trusting that your valuable time will not be wasted.

Your participation in this survey is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately it is not possible to make any monetary rewards to participants, but should you provide your personal details, your name will be entered for a draw of a prize in the form of an Apple iPod.

In order to be able to evaluate all the data and to meet the submission deadline, I would appreciate it if you could complete the survey by no later than 20th September 2009.
